★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I wasn’t sure whether to give this club 1 star or 5 stars, so I went down the hay diddle diddle.
On the one hand, the outfield was quick and great for my notorious late cut shot.
On the other hand, the behaviour of the club manager “Mr Callum” was a little concerning.
He kept coming over to us and asking “how well the boys were stroking today”. I’m not 100% sure what it meant but, it often was accompanied by his hand on our shoulders for at least 5 Mississippi’s, which in my opinion is too long.
Anyway, if you’re into fast outfields and prolonged physical contact, I highly recommend giving Westmere cricket club a try.
