★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We only had the pleasure of staying one night but would definitely recommend and come back again. The chalet was warm and comfortable and had all we needed. The local area is absolutely stunning and there is so much to do. It was a great location as you could visit anywhere north or south easily. Loved our one night ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent a delightful couple of nights at the Whistling Frog, the motel was very clean and pretty well appointed, the facilities are impressive considering the remoteness of the Chaslands. Coffee excellent and the Food Truck up the road provided good food. Management and staff all very helpful.

Wonderful place to stay, if you don’t get the sunshine head up to McClean Falls which is an easy short walk.
The standout for me is just how accommodating Whistling Frog is for dogs with pet instructions complete with treats and toys.
We will be back ASAP and keen to try the new pizza over next time ? Many thanks Nick & Laura

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed two nights in a cabin. Good clean facilities. Loved the cabin, it kept us warm on frosty nights. Great we could take our dogs, the wee dog welcome pack was a nice touch and very useful. Location is perfect for exploring The Catlins. Looking forward to staying again soon.

Big shout out to Erica who constantly seemed run off her feet, yet has the biggest smile and happy vibe, and nothing is an issue (even moving camp sites after 1st night to be closer to amenities for kids). Absolutely amazing place to stay to be able to explore the beautiful surroundings.
Cant wait to come back again another! Definitely the place to stay

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We dropped in for a coffee and a bite on the way through from McLean falls and loved the vibe from Lynn and the other patrons, that we decided to stay the night on the way back. I'm glad we did. Nice facilities, beautiful cafe, bar/pizza oven/outdoor shared space. The location is fantastic, nestled in the natural bush between some walks and waterfalls. If you are a birder or tramper this is a great place to park up. April seems to be a quiet time of year, which has its advantages.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic warm welcome from Lyn even though we hadn’t booked and it was out of hours! Great little cabin, carefully presented with access to a v clean and well equipped kitchen. We didn’t have any food so were also delighted to be able to buy a couple of their ready-made meals! Life-savers!! Very sorry the cafe wasn’t open but totally understand why, delighted this great set-up is still in business. Many thanks ☺️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A place to stay or stop in for a quick bite and a beer . Plenty of seating available, in the shade or the sun . Pizza oven on site , not sure when they lite it up. DOG friendly . All the covid rules were in adhered to .
