★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have had Tapas on two occasions over recent months, breakfast once and enjoyed wines in front of the fireplace At the ‘Ridge’.
Without exception the food has been fabulous, the service cheerful (if a little nervous for the newbies) and attentive and the atmosphere is great.
Once the music was a little loud but always turned down when asked.
Having the ‘Ridge’ on Ohaupo’s doorstep is great, even if you just pop in for a glass or two by the fire.
Well done Danielle, Tracey and the team!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow!! What an amazing night!!! My mother, friends and I went in the for ‘Trust the Chef’ tapas night. The staff were extremely friendly and super professional. Traceys knowledge about the food was impressive and her jokes definitely topped it off! Where do I even start with the food?! Every course was exceptionally well presented, you almost didn’t want to ruin the presentation when tucking into it for your first bite. All the flavours really worked well together, and I can tell this was really well thought of. Kudos to the new Chef, I will definitely be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came and had the 'trust the chef' option which is 8 tapas including dessert.
We loved all the food. Our favourites were the prawn toast and the coconut dessert. The restaurant is really allergen friendly. I needed the food to be dairy free and they did an amazing job ensuring all 8 meals were dairy free for me. Usually when we go out there's only 1 or 2 items on the menu dairy free so I really appreciated it.
We will definitely be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went with a few hungry, food loving friends to try experience the selection of food on offer with their “trust the chef” evening. Let me assure you, that my full trust is in that chef now!!! He can name my first born child, look after my life savings and lead me blindfolded through a room full of spiders – FULL TRUST!
Plate after plate of decadent, flavourful, creative masterpieces rolled out of the kitchen. Every plate was more amazing than the next and after starting the night with a slight concern we’d have to swing past the drive thru on the way home, we were all so full and joyously satisfied that you almost had to roll me out of the restaurant at the end of the night. You can tell this chef cares about what he puts out. He has taken time and many years of experience to master his craft to create such incredible explosions of flavour and awe-inspiring presentation. So many things that came out, I never would’ve considered ordering from the menu, but most of them ended up being my favourites of the night.
The food was exquisite - fine dining quality, but to help make this an unforgettable night, the staff were all friendly, welcoming and attentive, the fire was burning, the atmosphere was lovely.
Do yourself a favour and get to Windy Ridge Tapas Bar & Eatery. You will not be disappointed! My compliments to the chef!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A group of us went to the 'Trust the Chef - Tasting Menu' event last night to try out the new menu and every single course we tried (8 courses) was ab-sol-utly DELICIOUS. I was blown away by the variation, flavours and presentation, even dishes i wouldnt normally pick off a menu were outstanding! Do yourself a favour and go try anything (or everything) on the new menu and you will not be disappointed ???? ??
