★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cheap car for $50NZD per day. The car was really really really old but very fuel efficient. They had filled up the tank before and only asked to fill it up again before returning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There's no way a company this disagreeable could keep trading, it has to be some kind of front. Filthy and even dangerous cars, rusting in a muddy scrap yard full of dogs. Not even the scantest vestiges of customer service: hasty, rude, telling me to hurry up despite a complete absence of any other clients. A surreal and vaguely intimidating experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to Kerikeri to check out Far North Rentals and ended up at A1 Rentals instead. No fuss, very reliable Toyota Corrola making 7.3l/100km avg. Car ended up in heavy rain downpour and survived, thank you A1 Rentals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After my recently posted (negative) review, I was contacted by the business owner, accused of dirtying the car myself and told that "for now" no extra fees for cleaning would be charged. I guess I'd better take down my bad review huh? An incoherent stream of insults and falsehoods followed in which I as told: "educate yourself more", "you have too much time on your hands", and called a "birocrat" (sic) and a "judgmental (sic) person" and so forth. To my complaint that the airport pickup driver forgot to show up, I was told "we are not slaves", and to the complaint that she drove off with no seat belt and without waiting for us to fasten the belt of our baby, I was told: "this is your responsability (sic) as an adult and a good mother." Given the mistake as to my gender, perhaps the tirade was intended for someone else. Who knows. In any case, I don't recommend subjecting yourself to this business.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rude lady on the phone. I tried calling their 0800 number which just made one ring tone and then went to the disconnected tone, I did try a second time to make sure. I then found their landline number and called this. The lady answered disgruntled and I explained that their 0800 number goes to a disconnected tone. She replied in a rude manner 'I am on the other line and you have tried to call 3 times, Ill call you back'. Based on how rude she was and now looking at some of their other reviews. I will not be hiring any vehicle from them. Absolutely no customer care with this company.

Communication was horrendous and when I did manage to talk to them (she was either the manager or owner) they were rude and dismissive...you may say why use them then? Well they were cheap bottom line...I informed them it was for a surprised honeymoon for my mates...she blew the surprise when I had to give her my mates number for the booking and she rung him and when I said something to her about it she claimed she didn't know. She was ringing me on the day they were arriving in Kerikeri and yelling down the phone, asking me where were they, when I had already given her all the info about arrival times.
When my mates finally found where she was waiting for them. She was extremely rude and judgemental towards them...Just because someone has tattoos doesn't mean you can treat them like dirt. I will tell anyone to run in the opposite direction, do not under any circumstances deal with this company

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We contacted the company and had a car delivered to our front door within the hour as promised. While the car looked older than other models it did what cars are designed to do, it got us from A to B. The vehicle was reliable and safe as well as economical. As well as this we had booked it initially for two days but required more days and this was handled very easily and efficiently.
Would not hesitate to use this service if in the region again.
