★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Slave LABOUR! I was speaking to a man this morning and brought him a coffee.
He advised me that he gets $49 a week for 20.5 hours!!! This is well below minimum wage and I understand that he has a disability and get a benefit BUT that does not mean we can judge him and underpay them! SLAVE LABOUR AT ITS FINEST AND WORK AND INCOME ALLOW THIS? DISCRIMINATION!!!!
And AIR NZ TOO!!!!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A relative of mine works at Altus. He loves his job and they are treated very fairly and encouraged in all that they do. They are paid under minimum wage which is an exception that the labour department has in place for business enterprises that employ disabled workers but they look at their wage as a total between what they earn from Altus and what they receive from Work and income so combined it is a competitive wage. These businesses are vital for disabled workers as it gives them meaningful work and dignity but they do need to be commercially viable, otherwise they would not be able to exist. they are run as non for profit organisations. Without these companies many disabled workers would not be employed which would be a disaster as they contribute so much. Very few employers these days are willing to take on disabled workers which is a great shame.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love working there it's a wonderful place for anyone with a disabled the staff are wonderful people and take care of you when you work there..I am very sad too be leaving here. I HOPE when everything goes back too normal. And air new Zealand are flying more times Altus Enterprise will need some of the old works back at Altus and I hope they ring me 2 go back.
