★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have stayed here twice and both times it was a pleasant, clean experience. My one issue this last time was barely enough milk or sugar for two people to have coffee or tea. Great pool.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This motel is situated next to state highway, and is just to the north of Takaka township. It is a walking distance to the local shops and eateries.
Very warm welcoming and friendly owners.
As you can see from the photos, the room is clean, neat and tidy.
Noise level is acceptable (for me) with occasional heavy vehicles passing by (no biggie for me). ?
Overall, it was a good experience.
There is plenty of onsite parking ?.
They accept cash and EFTPOS including credit card payments (Paywave payments are available, for those who want to know).
Would I go back? Yes ?.
Comfort: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. I had a comfortable bed (medium firmness).
Environment: mainly quiet but you do get the noise from trucks or large vehicles driving pass as this motel is located next to a state highway.
Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Reasonably priced.
Customer service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Friendly owners.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location along the quaint main business street, close to several eateries. Bed was super comfy, room was spacious and quiet. And the owners were very kind and even let me stay past check out while waiting for my flight.
Also, they had a old dog who was super adorable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saturday 14th we arrived at the Lodge. Entered the reception area and the owner came out immediately pointing at the sign requesting all to wear a mask. I advised her that I didn't have one sorry, followed by "do you have any rooms available?". We entered the property based on the "VACANCIES" sign out front. There were only 3cars maybe in the entire complex.
The owner then informed me that they had NO vacancies.
At this point I had 2 choices
1. Question the fact that there were in FACT rooms available and why the sign remains reading Vacancies? OR
2. Walk away and feel like I had just been judged based on the fact I had no mask and clearly the owner thinks it's okay to make you feel like an outsider and they just didn't need my money.
Anatoki Lodge, absolutely disgusted in your mannerisms and your lack of morals. You really should be quite disgusted that you choose to treat other human beings with little respect.
Jacinda Adern, just another sad story to add to the many stories that YOU have created.
Anatoki Lodge, I will personally make sure that I let others know to bypass your Lodge and pop around the corner to Mohua Motel. Lovely owner and no judgment at all.
Shouldn't be in this industry at all.
Tip of the day and for future reference, please add a sign out front that the vacancies are only for Jacinda's followers baa baa

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely clean units, we had a little mishap and our hostess Lynley sorted it for us
no problem at all. Just enjoyed our stay and so close to the town, and also enjoyed
the food at The Wholemeal Cafe in the Main Street of Takaka.
