★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been buying items from this shop for several years, even when it was located in Kilbirine Wellington, prior to relocating to Auckland.
It's so refreshing to go into a shop that's not a sterile chain store shop selling the same boring mass produced items.
One has to remember this is a antique shop ,selling Japanese antiques, amazing kimonos, fabrics and furniture.
It a pleasure to browse and find that unexpected gift.
Plus a owner who has great knowledge in what he is selling.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Truly beautiful store with rows of kimonos and haori coats to choose from. There are japanese antiques and beautiful fabrics in the back. You won't find any place like this in New Zealand so I highly recommend a visit!

Superb stock of old Japanese treasures. Certainly the best selection in New Zealand. A remarkable emporium of Asian textiles and ceramics. Brilliant stock chosen by Paul Rivers with his renowned insights. I've been a client for many years and feel very privelaged to be one that returns often.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is absolutely a hidden treasure for Eastern/Japanese culture lovers. Actually it can be for anyone who needs some of inspiration! A huge collection of Kimono and accessories plus Japanese books, paintings, arts, decor etc. I was amazed by the singing bowl! It’s more than meet the eyes. The staff was friendly and helpful. We bought a set of silver silk kimono at very affordable price. Will visit again for sure!
