★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Met IIyese April 2021 & in one day consultation i found my dream dress ? wedding was meant to be in December that year bt due to covid god had other plans & prostponed to June 18th 2022. Also picked the most beautiful veil from their shop from of course with IIyese help & in one day also ? she does not play around when it comes to her job she will make sure what you are thinking of or trying to describe her to is what you will get from her, it sure was one hell of an experience i have ever had in a bridal shop, down to earth, warm welcoming from herself & the ladies who also works there, all the ladies there have such great customer service & are always in a bubbly mood , it makes it more exciting when they are & look more excited for any bride that walks in their shop. The best in the game & i will never forget IIyese EVER & her lovely crew, everything happens for a reason & i thank god for sending me to this bridal shop & for meeting IIyese ????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately this was not the experience I expected to have at a wedding dress shop. Due to covid restrictions I asked how many people could come to the dress fitting with me and was told up to 4. I had family members fly from several locations in NZ to share this experience with myself. On walking in we walked past all the dresses and sat down on a chairs where I was given a form to fill in. Next we discussed the dresses I liked and then moved to where the dresses were. Unfortunately none of my guests could come into the dress area. This didn’t make a lot of sense as when leaving there was another bridal party all looking at the dresses with their stylist. Next I tried on the dresses where most of them were several sizes to big and therefore needing big clips to hold the dress together. The dresses I tried on looked dirty and dusty which made it really hard to visualise as it was all unflattering. The lighting is also not the best. One of the dresses I tried on even had the breast padding halfway down the front of the dress.
The worst part was the noise! There was and extremely loud party right next us that had 4 or more guests and they were facing timing 2 people which just echoed on the wooden floors. It felt like we were in a crowded room. It definitely ruined the atmosphere.
Another bad point were the cheap looking fake flowers that I was given which was the final tipping point and I couldn’t help but laugh.
Our stylist was absolutely lovely and I would like to thank her for that. She was apologising throughout however the experience of finding the perfect wedding dress was just lost. She recommended I come back however I won’t be doing that.
Despite the store size there is definitely room to split the areas in which different groups sit. I feel like this would have improved the experience especially when your paying $3000 plus on a dress.
The store has so much potential and it definitely had a negative impact as I would not recommend my friends and family to go here

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I cannot recommend Astra Bridal enough! I purchase my dress and veil from them for my elopement. From the initial zoom consult mid lockdown to the in store experience, everything was amazing. They had such a fantastic range of dresses and weren't afraid to pull out some wild cards. Once I got an idea of what I liked and didn't like they pulled heaps of dresses. I had to buy my dress off the rack due to a short turn around to the wedding date, I was afraid this might limit dresses that I could get, but they had so many I'd a tough time choosing! They were also able to recommend where to get dress alterations completed.
My mum was overseas and they had a tripod and ipad set up so that she could be part of the experience, this meant so much to her and something we both will never forget.
I loved how they showed their prices online so I knew exactly what was in and out of my budget straight away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best way to describe my experience with Astra Bridal Auckland City was by the end of it, I felt like I had two extra bridesmaids. Ilyese and Cherie shared the excitement with my bridesmaids as I tried on each dress, and then offered their professional expertise and patience as we designed my dream dress from two of the other avaliable designs. I never felt pressured or rushed to make a decision. I cannot rave about these two enough, wedding dress shopping can be a daunting experience, but with the supportive and warm environment they have created, you will want to stay and try on every dress in the store. They give you a bridal experience that every bride deserves. 10/10 recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the best experience here! Ilyese helped me with my bridal fitting. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful and I felt great. I thought it was a fantastic idea to have a 10 minute Zoom call prior to work out the general style! It meant I got to try on the dress I really loved, and I was thrilled when it actually fit and looked perfect! Ilyese kept in contact every month while the dress was ordered which was great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down the best bridal store in Auckland! Especially as a plus size bride, I went to 3 other stores who only had samples available in a size 10 which left me feeling deflated but Astra had an awesome range of plus size dresses to try on and the girls were all so kind and made me feel so much better about myself. The communication was excellent and the whole process went so smoothly, Ilyese even couriered my veil to me which is much appreciated :) thanks to the Astra team for such a fun and happy experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Astra Bridal Auckland City - Ilyese and the girls are genuinely lovely and super helpful! They are highly experienced and know exactly what to bring out for you to try on when you describe what you want. Have been to a few bridal dress stores and they have been the best.
The dresses are all beautiful and of high quality. They stock a wide variety of dresses in all styles and sizes, definitely recommend as I found the perfect dress for my wedding in December.
