banner for a number of years 27 and a half years in fact and I thought it was great
loved every minute of it they were responsible for quite a number of improvements
to the working conditions as well as wage increases over that time but as time went
on they were not able to do any thing about getting rid of all those conditions that they had fought for and achieved over a period of about a hundred years they were
struck off with the stroke of a pen so to speak I wish them well in fighting for conditions and
wages all over again into the future go for it good luck

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Duplicitous Waste of Money - Caught Union President on at least 3 occasions mocking me and passing back private correspondence to my employer inciting friction where it need not be. ERA claimed they had damaged the relationship with my employer. ERA upheld my rationales where my own union had just laughed at me behind my back. Privacy Commission also concluded at least 4 breaches of privacy both in leaking information and withholding information... Union President - also Justice of the Peace - Gary Froggtt made ludicrous million dollar settlement claims then denied it despite having put it in writing... Union President of the past 46 years was described to me as a 'player' and that would be my assessment of him too based on my experience. My own delegate endlessly complained about him yet would not challenge him... Its a boys club where the delegates are unable to challenge the President but they stick close to where their bread is buttered... the officials are patsies who cannot adequately fulfil their roles... Disciplinarily procedures are not followed. The Vice President of the Union expressed his support for me against the Union President in what he described as proof of serious misconduct - long suspected and spoken about - however he claimed the Union President was too powerful to challenge and ultimately he just went silent... These people lead us out on strike and bring the Auckland City Public Transport system to a halt on such days. I would not believe a word they say. Fortunately new unions are making headway in as more and more members leave and I look forward to a time when our workplaces are free of the self-serving nonsense of the Auckland Tramways Union.
