Wow! Look at all the 1 star reviews here! AT 's model is broken! AT contracts bus services to companies with old smelly clapped-out buses belching clouds of black diesel smoke! Schedule? AT has no respect for schedules! I suggest AT mgt hop on a plane to Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney to LEARN how to provide RELIABLE and AFFORDABLE public transport!!!!

0 stars. These guys will open the door for you to get into your car. If it's not the consistent lateness, cancelations or just not showing up at all doesn't convince you then the heavy handed "upgrades" will. Cutting bus routes, increase in transfers, encouragment to use a train that is also equaly awful to use (or doesnt exist yet if you work on K Road), boomeranging you out to random areas before reaching your destination (Westies in Henderson, Te Atatu and Massey look up the changes they are making out your way coming 2023) and adding another 40+ min to whatever route you currently take. Just standing here now, 2 buses have just not come. Not delayed, not cancelled, just on the board - off the board with nothing in the app. I've been here an hour. The next one is theoretically in another hour. I will welcoming the motorway 7am traffic on Monday (was gonna wait till 2023 when they cut my bus into the city) and pay the huge parking fare with the biggest smile on my face knowing I will not be paying bus fare to AT because as bad as that is, this is by far worse. EDIT : Just checked the app for the last time, the second bus finally turned up!.....50mins after it was scheduled to arrive. Luckily, I was home after being picked up in a car. So thanks AT for convincing me to never use your garbage excuse of a service again

Southern Line train services are also a nightmare ..can get cancelled at any time leaving passengers stranded. They have no idea of customer service ..they run a 3 carriage train during peak hours with people jam packed in it where social distancing is hardly possible. They take all our money in advance and give us a un reliable and hopeless service. No stars for this outfit.

I've caught buses throughout the country and the bus service run in Auckland is by far the worst. Never on time, customer service is no help whatsoever, and twice I've had a bus just take the wrong route for no reason other than the drivers are incompetent I guess. Useless :)

Just useless. Specialise in delays and not holding connecting trains at Papakura when the service is late due to their own faults. Twice in the last three days I have had my journey delayed by more than 20 minutes because of them. NZ public transport sucks, no wonder everyone drives and blocks up the motorway. I will start driving again soon too.

they actually created a single lane bus lane on queen st but with all the traffic in CBD it's hard to find the signage before entering. once you entered that bus lane you can only proceed with your mistake and get a fine because it's one lane. Even if you realize you made a mistake as you entered there is no orher way to move to except reversing. Oh you really trap me there and be like you need to pay a fine of $150. So I should have reversed and imposed a danger to others because I don't want a fine? The message you are sending is that people should not carry on with their mistake when driving but they should do whatever that can prevent them from getting fines - in my case, I should have reversed to avoid the fine even though there is a pedestrian crossing

Worst public transport in the world. Busses depart 10 min too early which will result in missing connection buses and trains. Why can’t bus drivers follow the timetables as shown. Really unreliable and disappointing. I don’t know what else to do about it, maybe build our own public transport company and close AT. I feel like in a third world country which is already in insult for third world countries as they have a better system in place than New Zealand and AT!

If I have to use 3 words to describe Auckland Transport, they will be "unreliable, unreasonable, and irresponsible". They are unreliable because trains never run during weekends and often get cancelled or delayed at a short (or no) notice during weekdays. The AT Mobile App and journey planner often don't match with the information boards at train stations. And the actual train arrival time can be different from what's shown on AT Mobile App or the station's information board. They are unreasonable because their biggest objective is to get more fine. My car had to be repaired before getting back to road safely. While Its wheels were off and the whole car was lifted on my driveway for maintenance, a AT warden wrote me a parking ticket. Doing car maintenance on my own driveway so that the car is safe to drive can lead to a fine by AT. They are irresponsible because they don't even apologize for the inconvenience caused by their faults, as many people have already mentioned below. Connecting buses/trains often don't work as their timing is often a joke. They also seem to not even try to keep trains running during weekends anymore. What was originally a temporary measure now has been a weekly disruption for a year. A reliable, reasonable and responsible Auckland Transport can encourage people to use more public transportation and drive more safely on the road. Unfortunately, AT is about everything but these words.
