★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has the best fish and chips I've ever eaten and I've had my fair share across Aotearoa. The fish was ssoooo fresh, the chips were crunchy with a perfect soft potato center. Also had a nice steak burger and a hot dog. The steak burger was cooked beautifully and the added possibly tomato relish which tasted home made really topped it off!! Thank you soo much for the delicious dinner. The service and food was wicked. The added foil tray in a bag with the paper towel on the base made it perfect for me to eat whilst driving home. I will definitely be revisiting on my next travels through.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New owners and very much up to the high standard as previous owners. Asked for 2 pieces of gurnard and received 4 good sized pieces with chips, of course. Have always enjoyed our stop offs at Matata to get our fish and chip fix. Thankyou.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tired and hungry, stopped here after a 3.5 hr journey. Service and staff just wonderful! Food although just chose chips, they were hot, crispy and tasty. Definitely would go back there again on way through Matata again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
