Overcharged snd after speaking to two Managers it’s still not resolved

STOLEN HOODY from Auckland airport drop off point staff. Not the sort of service I expect as a Preferred Avis customer. I returned my vehicle to the Auckland airport drop off point Wed 26th June, where 3 staff members were directly around the car at the time of the drop off - very unusual I know right? One of them alerts me to leaving my mobile phone mount on the windscreen which I thank them for and retrieve and pack into my case while my wife is getting a trolley for our bags which I load up - so plenty of time for these 3 staff to point out the New Crusaders Hoody - just purchased on this trip in Auckland - was still in the vehicle in plain sight on the back seat.... BUT NOT ONE of them does, guess they must have thought they deserved to have it more. Once through the security check and in the lounge, I realised that I have left the hoody in the car so I call the Auckland airport office to say I am still at the airport and can we get someone to check the car as it had just been dropped off - "no the vehicle had already been taken to cleaning and the item would be in lost property, where I was able to to have it sent back to me in Australia at my cost" fair enough I would follow up with lost property when back in Australia to get the hoody sent back. Contacted lost property only to get back a generic response - no hasn't turned up if found will be in contact - ummm I contacted you immediately while still in Auckland to let you know where it was an 3 of your staff were around the car when it was returned to process the vehicle - So if it didn't make it to the lost property the only logical explanation is one of those 3 staff stole it. As a Preferred customer who regularly travels for business in Australia and New Zealand and uses Avis exclusively I would have thought they would have sorted this on my 1st call. I made 6 calls wasted a lot of my own time and spoke to managers and head office people that were going to get back to me but haven't, so they had ample opportunity to make this right. I had a similar experience in Melbourne one time when travelling one call to lost property team where the item gone missing, she credited the rental on the lost amount sorted one phone call. Not in Auckland where theft is OK and no one, not even the management want to know about it or fix the issue. Our company will no longer use AVIS or Budget for business car rentals and will give our money to a more reputable company moving forward. Theft is not OK from your customers.
