this Avis at Rotorua Airport would be a worst rental service in NZ.
Staffs there, speak very impolitely and are puffed up with arrogance.
No email confirmation was given before and after rental.
exact cost was not given as they just hold the average amount of payments to my credit and after returning the vehicle, they charged me final cost again. This made me really confusing as others normally hold my credit as a deposit.
Rang to staff and asked what's going on but they don't cared about the amount they hold on my credit.
What I heard from this cold lady at Avis was "It's your thing to ring your bank to clear that holding amount".
It seems they don't care about the customers once they've got paid.
Absolutely no place to recommended to others specially from other area.
*ps: If you (Staffs at Avis) have read this review, please keep it mind that without customers (no matter where they came from) there will be no place for you and don't forget to make an apology for your mistake.
You made a booked my rental with wrong drop-off place so I had to came back for renewal the booking but no one apologized for this to me as I expected.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Top notch service by the manager. Swapped our car for a smaller Corolla on request and dropped our bill slightly. Cars technically were unavailable because they just returned from maintenance and also swapped us a different color later. All of our requests could have been met with No’s but they helped us out anyway.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are AVIS preferred customers and had to wait so long for the only woman serving. She was flustered because the printer was not working but could of kept it professional by not displaying her anger.
By the time we got to the counter she asked us to sign the agreement for existing damages ( which should only be agreed to by the customer after viewing the vehicle). We signed after viewing though.
We had also selected a baby seat which was still sitting behind the counter. We had to fit it which took forever and it was FILTHY!! Old food, stains etc... you name it - it was on there. We had to buy a seat cover for it. Just disgusting!
It's a shame because AVIS Christchurch check in was flawless, with the car seat fitted already, which makes a huge difference when you have been travelling all day with 10 items of luggage and a swag of kids just to get to the car.
