Nice and easy walk under the forest canopy. Very relaxing. Highly recommended for families. Native flora and fauna is amazing!

A 15 minute walk to Big Tree Walk – a massive 1000 year old totata, which has an estimated life expentancy of 1500 to 2000 years. Who really knows, humans have not been around along enough in NZ, to really know for sure the exact date these trees can live too. Totarol is a compound extracted from the Totara tree. The French cosmetics and skin cream company L'Oreal tests around 1500 new ingredients every year. Apparently your "worth it", as Totarol is used by L'Oreal and it is more expensive than gold. Totarol is nature's super antioxidant, Totarol is 3 times stronger than Vitamin E, and a potent force to neutralise free radicals linked to skin ageing. Totarol is a compound from the heartwood of the Totara tree, and makes the wood extremely resistant to decay due to its antimicrobial and potent anti-oxidant activity and the suppose longevity of the trees.

Lovely walk, did it with the kids. Surprised that it's classed as wheelchair friendly as some parts seem steep and narrow for a wheelchair or stroller. Not paved, but loose stone in places.

A leisurely forest stroll, perfect for a little afternoon getaway. 10 minute walk to 3-4 totora trees.

Big thanks to DOC and D&E. What a fantastic spot to work in very happy with the section we resurfaced and hope it gets a lot of use over summer. If you have the time it's a great walk. Lots of birds and great tree cover ?

Lovely walk with some incredible trees. Steep sections and stairs. Not sure I'd say this is suitable for people with mobility needs

To think that this was here long before we were! When it was a sampling Europe was coming out of the dark ages, the crusades were yet to be fought, it would be 500 yrs before the Americas would be found by Europe and a few hundred years before the first Mauri settles.
