★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We live in Wainuiomata and us to love camping at the camping area, but as the years have gone by it have become and looks very unkept, unloved and run down..
At $15 per adult & $7.50 per child this is extortion.
Sure you get showers and toilets for this but no cellphone coverage.
When I asked the ranger why they charge so must compared to kaitoke regional park, his reply was because we can..??
But the walks are good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful! Lots of parking. Lots of signs and info. Toilets. Heaps of friendly visitors and locals. Lots of tracks. Dog friendly on leads. Can not fault this lovely area of NZ.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this park but the grounds need a lot of work. Grass is knee and in some places waist height to not that great to walk in. The tracks are great but the grounds are not.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for day walks, overnight tramps and picnics. Multiple well marked tracks to suit all levels in a stunning bush surrounding. Good basic toilet facilities in carpark with information boards about the walks nearby. Bellbirds, Tuis, Fantails, Grey warbler, Kerereu and even a North Island Robin were spotted on our walk. Kiwi nesting signs were also on display. Well worth the drive!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great ride for beginners from the Wellington side the through to the Wairarapa side lots of fun on the way down after the summit tunle.
The other way Wairarapa to Wellington is for the more seasoned rider
