Magical, magical, magical. I absolutely loved seeing the penguins coming home for the night. I got so excited as I learnt to spot them out at sea and then they'd land in the surf and waddle up the beach. Amazing. We saw at least 150 penguins and they are super cute and funny. Lyndon our guide was very informative and made the experience exceptional. Another must do if you are in Dunedin.

My friend and I went on Friday night, and we absolutely loved it! Saw over 100 penguins right in front of us, and the two guides were so knowledgable and passionate about the land, animals etc. Such an incredible experience that we will never forget, and would 100% recommend to anyone! P.S Thanks for the Raisins ;)

An excellent experience. There were loads of penguins in groups called "rafts" coming onto the beach at fast speed. There's a chance you'll see a sealion chasing the penguins, like we did last night! It goes till late at night and is very cool in the dark with the lights that light up beach so we could see everything. I highly recommend this trip. - Liam, 9.

It was a trip with so much fun and happiness. You can never get the chance to see so many cuties in the wild this close at one time. I would say it’s one of the must go places if you visit South Island in summer. Thank your team soo much!! **Pls remember to bring some warm clothes cus it’s fairly cold there at night

Absolutely amazing, so informative 3 guides were superb. Really friendly & enthusiastic towards the Little Blue Penguin Sanctuary. Was the best thing we did on our trip. Will definitely recommend even with our 2 year old was a real hit. Dress warm as it's very cold on a windy evening hat, scarves gloves winter jackets. The more layers the more comfortable you will be.

Lyndon and Diane were fantastic and interesting hosts, providing a lot of info and background about the penguins and local area. Dozens of penguins turned up on time, and provided great photo opportunities. Highly recommended, and need to keep supporting tours like this.

I was phoned just prior to the tour that I will be the only person participating in the tour. I was a little nervous as I thought that the lack of bigger audience would make things awkward. But fortunately that was not the case as my tour guides were very hospitable and kept the momentum of the tour going. And the moment I waited for: the penguins. Seeing them come ashore and waddle their way back home was the most enjoyable thing to see. So cute! We were able to see up to 50 penguins which was more than what I had expected. I can't recommend the tour enough. Lyndon was a very hospitable tour guide along with his colleague (sorry I forgot your name :/ ) The tour went on for an additional 22 minutes as the moon was making the penguins nervous so make sure to bring some snacks and warm layers, but despite this, I didn't really mind staying on for a little longer. This tour funds the guardianship of the penguins and their habitat, so I would recommend going on this tour to help support the good work the team at Blue Penguins Pukekura are doing, also cute penguins!

Well worth the money to support this local business and see the smallest penguins in the world. You get a 1.5 hour experience with an awesome tour guide who shares the history of Pacific islanders arriving in NZ, their significance to the area, and heaps of info about the penguins and local plants. We saw 3 groups of penguins come in, lots of space to take photos and it's lighten up at night.
