β β β β β Booked taxi multiple times and the taxi never arrives. I booked a taxi on urgent basis and the taxi didn't arrive and I got late to pick my daughter from day care. Very bad experience, and when tried to complain, they just email back saying your booking has been cancelled. Poor service.

β β β β β Asked for driver to come to driveway, he said message not passed on. Turned up round the corner and on wrong side of street in a van with only seat in the front with him. Had to open sliding door and put luggage in - then he put one seat down facing backwards. Not great at best of times but as I have a broken shoulder made it tricky.

β β β β β I booked for three taxisβ during my familyβs time in Bluff, two to pick us up from Invercargill airport (as we were travelling in groups) and then one to take us from the Bluff ferry terminal to the airport.
I booked the services via email, and each time I received a lovely reply to my bookings, questions or adjustments within 24 hours, which is fine.
The taxiβs that picked us up from the airport were fine, a bit of a squish for our bags (which I had mentioned we were bringing), but all good and just less than $10 more then what we had roughly been quoted, which was all good.
However, our booking to go home was a nightmare and is why I would not recommend this service.
We had booked to be picked up from the Ferry Terminal at 4.45pm, with enough time to do a quick drive and photo at Sterling Point (which I had confirmed with the company previously) before heading to the airport for our 6.15pm flight, allowing enough time (15min) to check in baggage. When we arrived at the terminal at 4.30pm the vehicle was not there, which was fine, however when it had not showed up at 4.45pm I rung to see what had happened.
Firstly, the phone service does not go straight to a person, so I had to pretend to book a service in order to then be put through to a human. The customer service line then went through to a Christchurch based operator, who did not know what I was on about. After being put on hold I was told I had cancelled the booking via email earlier in the day. I told them this was not true, I had received no notification that my booking had been cancelled, and that I needed a tax pick up right now. I was then put on hold for over 10minutes, during which time it became apparent we were going to miss our check in for our baggage. When someone did finally repick up the line, they told me they were sending out a service from Invercargill and would take $30 off the service, but by this time it was too late. I had been on hold for so long with no one updating me on what was happening (if anything was happening), that I booked with CABI Invercargill (who I highly recommend, as well as Air New Zealand, who were so accommodating and allowed us to check our bags in late as we had missed baggage check in due to Blue Star Taxiβs never turning up), as honestly, I had no idea what was happening as I was put on hold.
I understand that there was an error made when another booking was cancelled but by mistake my job was deleted from the system, however the lack of notification that my booking was cancelled, as well as the inept customer call service (not based in Invercargill, telling me I had cancelled my service when clearly I had not as I was ringing up asking where it was, as well as being put on long holds) means that if you are needing to get somewhere at a specific time, this service cannot be trusted. Their lack of empathy to the whole ordeal was just awful, and I never received any email or contact after the final call when I clarified that I was in a different taxi service and again, would not be needing their services again.
Therefore, I would not recommend Blue Star Taxis.
