★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I measured time when I saw the queue: 21 mins on a Friday at 2pm. 14 people waiting 3 staff working. Lots of people leave when they see no progress.
Do the maths:
15 mins * 10 people = this branch wastes 10 hours of people's lifetime per hour by letting them wait in their queue.
Try ASB across the road. Less people, more staff, faster queue, quieter environment, friendlier service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two Indian staff at the Exchange counter around 11:30 AM 10/05/17. The younger staff should definitely improve his manners and I didn't feel warmth when he provided the service to me. I said thank you but he didn't respond ( this is absolutely BS attitude). Will choose other place to change my money next time. Please recruit your front line workers carefully and first impression is extremely important and this is just a kind reminder to BNZ so that this will NEVER EVER happen again. (You are potentially losing customers as your staff upset customers.) There are so many choices for forex why do I have to choose you??? LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE EXCHANGE RATE IS NOT COMPETITIVE AT ALL. AS TODAY 1 USD = 1.44801622 NZD ACCORDING TO GOOGLE, I SHOULD HAVE GOT AROUND $94.12 RATHER THAN MERELY $89.03.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another bank that keeps closing it's branches leaving people no option but to use online banking. This however is useless when you have cash you want to deposit, or if you 'choose' to talk to a banker in person about account options. As convenient as it is, everyone is putting far too much faith into doing everything on line.. it's not immune to failure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rotten service. Rang the 0800 business number for a replacement card - told I would have to wait up to 7 days. No problem I have my existing card. Went to use my existing card, then found it wouldn't work. Rang to find out why, told the old card had been cancelled and I would have to go to a branch if I wanted a temporary card. Branches are now a long way away as BNZ keep closing branches. Hopeless.
Decided to wait and replacement card - it finally arrived only to find I have to go into a branch to get the new card activated. Hopeless service even to a priority customer.
Clearly the bank don't want us so will look at changing to a NZ owned bank

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went online to see what branches open - found one that said it was open. Get there - no closed reopening 10 January. Got home, rang the 0800 number eventually getting through to a person. In the end they couldn't help us. We actually need to go into a branch - would have been sorted. What the hell! How come we can go to the ASB not only get help, but actually physically guide you through doing internet banking. At home the BNZ customer help person on the end of the phone, can't see your screen so pretty useless service. To change all our banking needs to another bank would be a pain in the arse. We need to though. Personal customer service means different things to different people. They basically don't want us to go into a branch anymore.
