★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is quite good, but there is one authentic Italian ingredient sorely missing: Hospitality. I've given Bottega numerous chances, and I've had exceptionally rude encounters with the staff too many times.
Bottega will never be authentically Italian until management puts an emphasis on treating its customers as we Italians would: like family.
Bottega - you adorn your walls with pictures of New York City pizza parlours and Italian-American immigrants. But until your staff starts treating people correctly, all that window dressing is nothing more than cultural appropriation. It's time you live up to the image you use to sell your admittedly delicious (and expensive) food.
Please fix this issue because your meatballs are tasty and I'd like to buy them in good conscience. And if all that is too much to ask, then at least take down the pictures.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good takeway pizza (although a little overpriced in my opinion), would have given 4.5 stars of the service was better. The man that helped us should take some training in 'how to be friendlyor helpful to customers'. Concluding remarks: Keep making good pizza, but improve people skills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good and bad experiences, mostly good. The pizza is excellent, some of the best I’ve had in Wellington. Meatballs decent but quite greasy, arancini under seasoned. But, unforgivably, I got a loaf of bread the last time I was there which had a mass of raw dough the size of a tennis ball in the middle. To be clear, the flavour and texture of the crust was superb. Buying a raw loaf, though, is pretty bad. I will be back for the pizza.

For customers eating in, I would like them to concentrate a little bit more on cleanliness e.g. The self-service glasses of water and cutlery on tables were not in a great state last time I visited.
