★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Return trip 6 km.park vehicle at Pohongina post shop and walk past school , from there you trek through private farmland and wind your way through farmland and forest.
On a clear day Ruapaehu is in your sights. Not a hard trek, a few styles to climb.
Overall a simple climb nothing exceptional on route .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The walkway is quite beautiful but in need of a bit of maintenance. Clearly a labour of love by the local enthusiasts, it traverses many beautiful viewpoints. The top end has sweeping views of the Ruahine ranges on a good day. It was a little overgrown when I went through but nothing major. It simply needs more use.
