Bunnings team members regularly conduct D.I.Y. Workshops for local community groups, like schools and kindergartens, nursing homes and hospitals.
Our teams can head out and visit a community group, or welcome a community group into the D.I.Y. area for a workshop.
Workshops are tailored for the needs of each community group and can include gardening, craft, woodwork, water and energy saving activities, as well as kids activities.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This review is for the "Click and Collect" service only from Bunnings Silverdale (not about shopping in person in store). I bought product on the Bunnings website and selected Silverdale as my store to collect the product from. After receiving an email saying that my product was ready for collection we went in store to pick it up. It took over half an hour to get customer service at the desk. Nobody was able to serve us. The staff member who eventually did come forward did not seem to care at all about the delay or the queue of customers gathering for service. There was confusion about finding product. It would have been FAR quicker and more pleasant to simply find the product myself on the store shelf and pay for it at the till. From this experience I will not be using the website Click and Collect service again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Customer service is generally very good, prices are competitive and there is a comprehensive range of products for consumers even throughout the pandemic.
However, after being profiled by a staff member, I don’t feel particularly safe or welcome at the Silverdale Bunnings.
An elderly family member I was shopping with was double charged for a product. The checkouts were busy so I thought it best to cross the short distance from the checkouts to the service desk for the refund. As I was walking the short distance a staff member approached me from her position by the store entry/exit and asked to see my receipt. I pointed at the service desk, which was 2 metres away, and told her that was where I was heading. Instead of allowing me to cover the two metres to the service desk queue, the staff member was insistent on viewing my receipt and checking the contents of my shopping bag. I had paid for both items.
I was genuinely stunned by the staff member’s lack of good faith. In a retail context I generally anticipate that I will be treated like a customer and in good faith. I have no problem whatsoever showing my receipt on exiting a Bunnings (or Kmart), which does happen occasionally, or even opening my shopping bags for inspection. But, to be treated with such suspicion and latent hostility was unexpected, especially in Silverdale and at a Bunnings in Silverdale.
