★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice vibe with table service; don't think the price matches the portion though. We ordered chicken skewers with lime, lemongrass, chili and ginger with a fresh salad and the deep fried crumbed tofu with cucumber and tomato salad with chilli sauce. Rice was not included. Chicken skewers was very tasty!

After visiting today for lunch the only good thing was the accompanying salad.
We ordered the squid, which was so over cooked that the batter was a darkened almost blackened. As were the fries and the spring rolls.
We also had the chicken which was on the line of being undercooked.
Overall the experience was pretty bad and definitely wont be going back. I have travelled through Vietnam, cook lots of Vietnamese food and this had no relevance to the cuisine that I know well.
I was really looking forward to this as it's been a while..
It doesn't take much effort to make this right and hopefully this will will change in the future.
The one fantastic thing was the wait staff, they were polite and attentive.
C'mon you can change this!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1st time in Devonport, Caught the Ferry over for the day. The smell of this place dragged me in off the street. Absolutely delicious, the dipping sauce for the spring rolls was insane. An array of fresh vegetables in the noodle dish. 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is so awesome and so different to other places, you really have to give it a try. Don't worry about not recognising too many things on the menu, it's all good. It's great to go with slightly more people or a few times as then you get to try lots of different things!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sublime food. Lovely staff. Great setting. So good, we had to go back twice in one week. Every other restaurant choice was compared to Hung Viet. Will DEFINITELY be back. We all dreamed about the food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sometime you see a restaurant advertisement with a picture of the food looking amazing only to be disappointed with the real thing! Not the case with Hung Viet Cafe! The actual food surpassed the photo in the Channel Magazine. The crispy savoury pancake was mouthwatering delicious. The staff were very friendly and the ambience was good. It got a bit noisy but that proves how popular they are. I can really recommend them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We’ve been in this wonderful restaurant for my birthday and I really enjoyed it! Food was fresh and delicious, and the service was great and we felt very welcomed! I personally love to travel around the world and this little place was like a nice journey to Vietnam! I will hardly recommend the deserts too as they were amazing!
