★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spent a couple of nights here. Loved the work the local council have done on the picnic/camping area. Lovely drive way area, clear access area's and grass recently mowed. THANK YOU. Sheltered from the thunderstorm the first night. Friendly people camping alongside us. Being self-contained meant we had all the essentials, which was good as the long-drop was one of the stinkiest I have experienced. I have experienced a few!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were going to stay but not that nice. Ok for a cuppa. Toilets closed and a stinky porta loo there, if you have to use it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot. Birds were noisy. Stream was a river. Toilet not good but usable if you can hold your nose.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a peaceful overnight stay. Portaloo needed emptying so that provided my first opportunity to use the Ashburton District Council app to report that. Flood damage obvious in the river bed but easy access to go for a walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros; nice grassy spot to camp. A beautiful swimming area that somebody has clearly put alot of effort into making. Big deep area and various smaller pools for toddlers and babies.
Cons; the portaloo has created a visual memory where I can gag on cue just by the thought of it.
