The idea for Carl’s Jr. came to life over 70 years ago in the glory days of the burger in the USA when diners and drive-ins ruled. This was America just after the war. Hopes and hairdos were high, and life was simple. No cappuccinos and definitely no tofu – just burgers and fries.
And Carl Karcher was following his American dream to make the best burgers on the planet by making them bigger and tastier than ever before. He wanted to use the best of everything, the crispiest lettuce, the freshest buns, the juiciest tomatoes – all stacked up good and proud so you’d eat it up with your eyes before it ever got close to your face.
We’ve made sure every burger has been big on that Carl’s Jr. taste and big on quality ever since. No short-cuts. No compromises. It’s always been about the food at Carl’s. They may not make them like they used to. But we do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely terrible 1 hour and 8 minutes in the drive thru. Finally got through and my 7 year old daughters burger wasn't in the bag. Very in happy child ended up stopping at mc Donalds on the way home

The burger and fries were Luke warm and sodgy and the potatoes sauce had gladwrap for lid- tacky
There was no ice for drinks.
I also found what looked like a piece of fish in my burger.
I didn’t bother returning meal as I did not want to wait another 15 mins plus
I will just spread word not to come here.

Chips are real tasty potatoes, and chunky, drink station is a free refill if you are still thirsty... good setting and EXCELLENT SERVICE, they bring the meal to your table.
Plenty of parking, an there is a good drive thru if thats what you prefer.
Food is fantastic an a good selection.
Just had a thick shake, was excellent/delicious

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best burgers ever, travel from Wellington to Palmerston North for this Restaurant. Delicious food and good value. Unfortunately service is lacking though when dining in. Servers can take quite a while to greet you and act like you are not even there.

The customer service varies, and the food freshness seems to vary as well, sometimes you’ll get a great hot and fresh nicely made burger and sometimes you’ll get a semi warm sloppily made burger that doesn’t seems to have been drained from the grease at all.
They do seem to get the order correct more often than McDonald’s though.

The food even though it was cold, it was pretty yummy with a exception. Would have been much taster if it was hot. When we went in there we where the ONLY and I mean the ONLY customers when we ordered. So no reason for cold kai. A bit disappointing really given the fact that I had Heard great things about Carl's Jr. I skoffed a Jim beam boubon burger and it was good, but and however the lettuce was basic and I wouldn't feed it to my neighbours rabbit...
BUT they have these really cool basins to wash your hands before and after having a feeding.
