★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stopped at Carricks on our way back from Cornish Point trail ride.
Location - the restaurant has a lovely outlook and plenty of green space for kids to play on. It looked like they may also have picnic mats for those that would like to sit on the lawn and take in the views.
Food - we ordered the duck confit and lamb racks. The duck confit was refreshing and the lamb racks were nicely frenched and prepared. Both meals were yummy.
Service - generally the service was good but the wait for our food took about 45 minutes. This took the sparkle off what would have been a lovely experience. As a result, we dropped our rating to a 4 star.

We we asked to take a seat outside and then instantly told they were all reserved even though they didn't say reserved. We took a seat further down the garden in the shade and then ignored. We then went back to request wines to taste and were handed a tray and told nothing about the wines and had to carry out the tray ourselves when everyone else was being served where thy sat. We were made to feel very unwelcome and promptly left. Won't be going back.

Down side we have been here a few times and the service from the waitress has alot to be desired. Would still come back great place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good wines but not a nice experience. They offer wine flights with notes. No explanation or interest from staff whatsoever. On our questions about the wine the young girl replied they are all organic and walked away as she put down the flight and said to start from left as that's the dry one. So my partner asked questions on counter while paying and another, more mature staff member replied briefly as she was also walking away. We came at 2.30pm so not the lunch rush or anything like this, Just plain interest from staff members. So we paid $20 for 4x wine taste pour and no information, cheese platter and left. What a shame as the wines were actually really tasty and we would be interested in buying some bottles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most tasteless pizza in Cromwell; cheap ingredients, overpriced...would have expected better. We ordered a garlic pizza and you could not taste the garlic at all. We found out afterwards that it did not actually have garlic pieces, but was made with cheap garlic butter, and so that explained why it had no flavour.
Our second pizza had chicken and each slice only had one small piece on it, so one bite and all the chicken was gone basically. We passed on our criticisms to the staff in the food truck and our views were dismissed and barely acknowledged. The staff claimed that "they were just following the recipe" but this just goes to show that they don't even know what they're making and whether the food is edible. An apology by the head cook/ chef would have been appreciated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice wine and scenery but the pizza is not worth the money at all. I was super disappointed of the pizza. A frozen dough with some cheap ingredients on top for $28/$30?! A no go. Wouldn’t go there for lunch again but absolutely nice view and lovely service

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wait staff were magnificent and looked after us adequately. Friends chose food from the menu which I believe was well received. My wife daughter and I shared a platter......way overpriced and lacked imagination. Very underwhelmed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely food and atmosphere but the service was lacking. After taking our initial lunch order we were ignored. Would have been nice to have been offered more drinks and dessert. Ended up going elsewhere to enjoy regional wines. Agree with another reviewer that Mt Difficulty was a much better experience.
