★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was actually behind Carters Carterton playing championship outdoor bowls at the Carrington Bowling club, but i have been to Carters Carterton as a customer at other times and have been will looked after when i have been shopping there with a bright friendly smiling staff.

I have lived in Carterton a few months and have already spent several hundred dollars with them and had thousands more to spend with work i have planned for my property.. Today i went in to re do a quote and was served by Gemma who announced when i got there that she was very busy as her colleague has kids and its the holidays and that in her words "that's not my problem" but how inconvenient it was for her. She also went on to give further details of her colleague, which were not only irrelevant but im assuming said colleague im sure doen't need the general public to know. She seemed to think this was also funny. I got another quote from her and when i asked about a discount she then went on to say her boss needed to look at it and as he too had to take time off for the holidays for his Kiddies" she couldn't get an answer until he was back. I did not need to know about her staffing needs and how her collegague became her problem because she has kids. I did not need to know any details around that or who was looking after these colleague kids the following week. I also a mum of 8 who only has 2 living kids and can not believe how this woman talked about kids as an issue for her because her collegague had to be away to look after them. This is an attitude that many working parents get but i have never been so disgusted to hear it put this way by another woman. I will never set foot in this store again and am so disappointed in this attitude let alone that Gemma would voice it to a customer. It is not acceptable and many people can not even have children so very insensitive to people in that position too. This quote was also meant to be a discount and yet i went to 2 other places and there quotes with out discount were the same or less. I have gone elsewhere now for my order and that is sad as i always try to support the businesses i live in.but i cannot in this instance give my business to people who have staff with this attitude. Very disappointing.
