★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a shorter hike with a great payoff. The best part about this park is that the vegetation changes several times.
We started at the Sculpture Garden car park and walked to the Cascades and back. The vegetation ranges from normal forest around the cascades to giant palm ferns that block so much light that there is no undergrowth. Most of the trail is in full shade, which makes it very comfortable on a hotter day.
And you get serenaded by birds the whole time. If you're looking to get out of the car and invest a little bit of time without too much effort, this is the hike for you.
