★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy 5 minute walk to the lighthouse, make sure you around low tide so you can access it easily.
Further 2 minutes to the peak.
Beautiful 360 degree views, and very interesting information boards.
You can see and do everything there in about 20mins to half an hour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome spot on the windy east coast. I don’t envy the poor sailors that relied on this lighthouse for guidance, as the waters were incredibly choppy in the area. Unfortunately we only stayed for about an hour so didn’t get to hike around the area or meet the locals but I would come back again to do all that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There was a sunny sky, howling wind (on the way up to the lighthouse ), which had completley disappeared as we came down. This sudden oasis of calm allowed us to have an enjoyable walk to the surfing end of the beach. The area was a great place to visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great short hike up to the lighthouse with great ocean views. Drive from the Hutt to Castlepoint approx 2 hours and 30 mins, but it is a scenic drive. The beach is absolutely awesome.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The walk was amazing and I got to experience beautiful geography which defines the local area. There is also a neat ladder going down onto a ledge that is up against the sea. The views were also breathtaking and the lighthouse is nice to appreciate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the must see light house in the whole country. Absolutely wonderful scenic area during the sunrise or sunset. Between it just take a walk on the beach, ride some waves on the board or take a nap in the car. Absolutely worthy place anytime.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely wonderful place to visit. Depending on the day you visit ahow beautiful sunrise or sunset colours. Short walk climb to the lighthouse. Board walk and steps take you to the top and other side of the rocks. Stay safe and walk around the lighthouse. Majestic views.
