โ โ โ โ โ I went with my family for my mums birthday and it was such a blast. George is a really nice guide and the hot chocolate and the roasted marshmallows were a nice treat. The blankets helped with the cold and were nice. George was also willing to answer our questions which was great and made sure everybody had a turn on the telescope. The views were really amazing. So worth it. Highly recommend .

โ โ โ โ โ We have been meaning to write this review for a while because George deserves every 5* review and I'm sorry it's taken so long to write it! This was one of our highlights, if not THE highlight, of our whole South Island trip and I'm so glad we booked with Chameleon. From the outset George was very considerate, keeping in communication about the weather and making sure we arrived and got back home safely at the end too. There was light cloud cover towards the end and I think George was more disappointed in this than anyone else was! Even if it had been fully overcast, George would have made it worthwhile from his level of knowledge and everything we learnt from just talking with him! He made sure we got to see plenty of fascinating sights through the telescope and gave us such detailed knowledge of the night sky. From a primary teacher's perspective, it is perfect for children and adults too! These vast concepts of astronomy felt much more accessible after he explained them so clearly as we sat gazing up from the comfort of our blanketed sofas. He is incredibly knowledgeable and evidently has such a passion for astronomy, answering all the questions we had. The hot chocolate and marshmallows were the cherry on top of a great all-round experience. This is a must-do activity for anyone in Tekapo and great value for everything included. Thank you George for a wonderful evening!

โ โ โ โ โ This was a most amazing experience! Very intimate with just a small group. George's knowledge was outstanding and he was so personable. We had a really clear night and the half moon didn't rise until half way through our session. The hot chocolate and marshmallow toasting were delightful. George took a photo of each group of us with the Milky Way in the background, and it was emailed to us the next day. I would highly recommend this business anyone who wants to see the awesomeness of the night sky from Tekapo. Thank you to George who made it really special.

โ โ โ โ โ Highly recommend Chameleon Stargazing for a fun, informative and inspiring night exploring the Southern skies! Our friendly, knowledgeable and passionate guide, George, made it a unique and comfortable experience for the family. We spent our time getting to know the sky we were lucky to see that night, with George explaining clearly how to identify certain stars and constellations, diving into their stories, showing closeups through the telescope, and enthusiastically answering the questions we had. We appreciated how George offered to take our pictures earlier on in the tour when he noticed some clouds starting to head our way. Blankets, hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows made the night warmer. Was a fulfilling and memorable experience!

George was an extremely knowledgeable and kind tour guide with lots of information to offer, providing us with a very cozy and comfortable seating area allowing us to relax and admire the starry sky. The hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows were definitely a delightful bonus that made the experience even better! Furthermore, the photos of our group with the Milky Way were stunning! This was an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone spending their holiday in Tekapo!!! ???

โ โ โ โ โ George, so kind and patient. Very accommodating to us with 3 young kids, no other place around allows that so weโre very thankful. We were provided blankets to keep warm, yum hot chocolates and a beautiful fire to toast marshmallows. We learnt a lot about the stars in our hemisphere. Would 100% recommend!! โ โ โ โ โ Topped off our tenth anniversary tonight with this wonderful star gazing tour with George at Chameleon Stargazing! Like the billions of stars we were introduced to, so too was George's knowledge! Loved how we just sat back with warm blankets, hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows while George wielded his laser pointer like a lightsaber amongst the galaxies far far away! Thank you George for the amazing experience! Highly recommended!
