★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really grateful we had someone recommend this experience to us. All of the group hosts were extremely knowledgeable on astronomy and we learnt a lot. Seeing an arm of the milky way was surreal. It was an intimate group with no children. Really enjoyed the hot pools but found myself falling asleep! The only let down was that our host did not have great te reo pronunciation and was telling a lot of stories about 'Mow-ry' mythology. Something to work on if wanting to embrace those stories, otherwise maybe leave them out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a fantastic experience! Our guide Sam was extremely knowledgeable and explained fascinating facts and stories of maori legends about the stars, planets and constellations.
Floating in the heated pool at the end was so relaxing and a great way to take in the uniquely clear view of the Tekapo sky.
We were very lucky to have a clear night with no moon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really enjoyed our stargazing experience. The group size was good, allowing enough time for everyone to have a turn on the telescopes to see different stars. We learned so much about the southern night sky over the hour-ish long outdoor part of the tour as lots of stars and constellations were pointed out to us, along with satellites, space junk, and some of us saw some shooting stars. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable about everything, like how many lightyears away things are. The hotpools second half of the tour was lovely, we got a bathrobe and towel and all relaxed in the pools, able to lie on floats and keep looking at the sky, as staff continued pointing out items of interest and everyone could ask any questions they had. The tour really stimulated a lifelong interest in astronomy for me :) It would have been nice to be able to get a photo or something at the end of the tour, to have something to take away. Similarly, the gift shop didn't have anything astronomy related and wasn't actually open that late at night, which is understandable. However, we went back, hoping to get a poster of the southern night sky to help us keep stargazing and identifying stars and were quite disappointed that there wasn't anything like that to take home. Overall, an amazing experience which was well worth the money.

Loved the star gazing in the dark outside with the telescopes and the milky way right above. And then enjoying hot pools with stars. Absolutely wow!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went stargazing on the 2nd of March this year. It was amazing. The weather was perfect. It was nearly a new moon on this night, and we had no clouds. My guide was Kris. His knowledge about stars and our universe is incredible. He could answer any questions to our total satisfaction. You can see and hear his passion for this. Overall I would recommend this to everyone interested in stars and our universe. In my opinion, it was worth it, and we took photos as a memory.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I attended the stargazing experience on April 1st 2022 and was absolutely delighted with this experience. It was a lovely clear night, the guide was very passionate and interesting, the time spent in the pools was very relaxing and idyllic while listening to the guide tell us stories and cultural perspectives of the clusters. I may not remember all he told us but I sure enjoyed the telling! An experience not to be missed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked for 31st to see the new year in. Sam our star guide was very informative. The sky was very cloudy but as luck would have it they parted over our heads. Great telescopes to see stars you could not see with the naked eye. We are so small in the Universe. Nice soak in the pools looking up to the millions of stars in the black sky. Awesome way to welcome the new year.

The sky was clear, the team were incredibly knowledgeable, the views through the telescopes incredible & the hot pools were warm & floaty looking up at the amazing night sky. Thank you Sam - guru astronomer - and the team for all the work & effort you put into this. We recommend it to anyone who enjoys stories, star gazing & hot pools. You too might just see Elon Musk’s “centipede” of satellites cross the sky.
