Our 47th Anniversary was celebrated in style with an exquisite lunch for seven. We were greeted and treated under Covid19 protocols. We were seated in a cool area and the concierge heard us discuss the coolness of air-conditioning and immediately changed us. The service was perfect as was the platter and wine to start. The main course was ordered and by the time we finished our platter the main courses and side dishes arrived efficiently and effectively. The mains were delicious, the sauces to die for and the side dishes tantalising to taste and share. The service was professional, friendly, interested in us and able to inform us about the wine and sauces and knowledgeable about the marinating process the chef used when i asked him. Each of the seven of us would highly recommend fine dining at Church Road. We have been here before...guess why.

Absolutely enjoyed thanks to Rohan! He is very nice and professional, informative:) I have been several wineries, but it's the best one due to him. Well I also loved some reserved wines, especially Malbec was beautiful. Appreciate it!

Was a bit busy, but they were able to seat us until a tasting slot became available. Our tasting server Sophie was phenomenal, an absolute delight to have our novice palette expanded by such a pleasant and knowledgeable wine connoisseur. Very much recommend

Excellent high class restaurant. Absolutely stunning building set in park like grounds at the winery. We went for lunch. It was very busy. Catering for a large group while we were there who were celebrating a 50th Anniversary down the end of the restsurant. You were not aware of any extra noise & staff were still friendly & efficient. Meanwhile people were coming in on a casual wine tasting experience. Some were cyclists clearly on the wine trail having a lot of fun. Added to the great atmosphere. Impressive menu. The food & wine was absolutely delicious. It was lovely & busy. (I try to take photos with no people in to respect their privacy).

Went there for tasting. Rohan who served us was just wonderful. It was such a pleasure to listen to his stories about different types of wines. You don’t have to pay for tasting if you purchase bottles in the cellar. One of the popular wineries in Hawke’s Bay you must try.

We went to a wine tasting over a quiet travel period. We didn’t book ahead and just walked in, but I believe you need to book ahead if travelling there other time. The staff there was friendly but may not be knowledgeable and professional enough to our needs. We drank some single vineyard wine and grand reserve wine before so would like to try something different. Instead of choosing a tasting option from the existing options like G-Wen, Terroir and Innovation…, I tried some wine from TOM collection that was beautiful but may not be up to the high price tag.

Amazing cheese platter and wine. We did not have a restaurant booking, but we ordered a platter to enjoy outside. Very peaceful surrounding and well shaded. The selection of foods were amazing. I loved the sesame prawns and olives. Good value for money. Amazing wine. Highly recommended.
