About City Medical 24/7 Urgent Medical Care
Your journey through City Medical will commence with Reception where you will be welcomed, details taken and records opened.
You will then be assessed (triaged) by a registered nurse for the purpose of establishing the level of seriousness of your visit. Naturally, if you are seriously ill or arrive by ambulance, this Reception phase will be handled later.
Once triaged, you will be seen by a doctor, diagnosed and treated . Comprehensive notes will be taken, and electronically forwarded, by secure encrypted methods, to your own General Practitioner. (note – if it is your wish that these notes be NOT sent to your GP then you just advise us of your wishes.)
At the conclusion of your visit, you will be given all of the necessary paper work and will be asked to report back to reception, where payment is expected at that time. Eftpos is available.
If you do not want your file notes to be forwarded to your GP, then please advise us.
Sometimes a patient may wish to have a friend or family member present. Under the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights a consumer is entitled to have one or more support persons of his or her choice present, except where safety may be compromised or another consumer’s rights may be unreasonably infringed.

Went there at night around 10pm as parter wasn't feeling well. Doctor was finished at 9pm so a nurse looked her, she did her best and even provide some medication too. Very friendly and also the lady at reception was really nice too , she welcomed us with a big smile even at that time of the day. Just want to say a big thanks to the team. Handle it real well.

Had to get a meeting cert for course, course did not agree to time off, the dodtore was then coerced into writing a medical certificate to fit their policy, and then denied it when I confronted them. Also rang for info on vaccine, was given no answer and just a phone number and then hung up on. Terrible way to treat people. Would rather suffer than go here ever again.

Very bed experience.
I will give 0 start if there is a option for it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called this place mid week early evening to book an appointment to see Dr. for daughters sports injury sustained that same evening. Put through to nurse and was told they were not doing "walk ins" and once I explained what was wrong, nurse said probably nothing to worry about and to tape daughters injury on foot and give it time to heal. 5 weeks later and still no improvement, took to see our GP - SHE HAS A FRACTURE....So great to know that we in Napier are left without a proper ED facility...an over the phone consult is all unless dying and need ambulance, by the sounds of it. Not impressed at all.

A special thanks to the receptionist who whipped me into an appointment and got the lovely nurse to see me straight away. I’m sorry I’ve forgotten everyone’s names except Dr Jo but you’re all amazing and thank you for your work especially through the pandemic/red light system.
