About CivilPlan Consultants Limited
The founding of CivilPlan Consultants Ltd
CivilPlan was created by founding partners Mike Smith and Russell Baikie. Mike initially
commenced in September 2014 and Russell joined in January 2015.
Its formation had its origins following an inspirational trek of the Routeburn track. With a
desire to escape the corporate world, they saw a gap in the market to create a friendly and
progressive small business providing quality planning and civil engineering services.
The name and logo was a collaboration with the stylised north point representing the
essence of CivilPlan as solid and progressive.
In April 2018 Campbell Harvey joined the Board bringing the land survey discipline to the
business adding strength and resilience to our multidisciplinary “one stop shop” service
offering.
From initial beginnings of a few dedicated and loyal employees, the Company has grown to
27 staff of varying ages, backgrounds and ethnicities who thrive in a business and culture of
making things happen.
