About Coastlands Dental Health Centre | Lumino The Dentists
Jareth was born in Wellington and attended Newlands College before going to dental school at the University of Otago. He graduated in 2012 with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Distinction).
He worked in Whanganui right out of dental school where he spent six years at a great practice and met his fiancée, Michelle. Jareth loved the work environment where he was mentored in the latest dental techniques and technology. He enjoyed the opportunity to provide a great standard of dental care in a tight-knit community, very similar to Paraparaumu and the Kapiti Coast.
Towards the end of their time in Whanganui, Jareth and Michelle felt ready for a new adventure. So, they said their goodbyes and set out to backpack around the world for all of 2019. They returned home to begin their time at Lumino Coastlands in January 2020, just in time before Covid changed the world as we know it!
Outside of dentistry, Jareth absolutely loves sport and animals. On their recent travels, he and Michelle tried to see as much of the great outdoors as they could; from animals migrating across Africa, to the national parks of North America. They attended some pretty memorable sports matches as well like South American and European football matches and the Boxing Day test in Melbourne. However, nothing gives him more satisfaction than being a dentist and taking care of people. He looks forward to meeting patients, giving them a great dental experience and providing life-changing dental care!

The remaining staff are still brilliant but it now feels like a "MacDonalds" version of dentistry, with all the "add ons" and pushing for more "unnecessary" procedures, all in the name of making money. I feel it has lost its community focus. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sadly I have moved to the Wairarapa. I was with Stephen and his team from 1992 to 2019 (27 years) and I received nothing but professional service. I cannot recommend Coastlands Dental enough. Wonderful staff, good prices, latest techniques and equipment, and painless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a late review cause I was looking where to enter it :) sorry not computer literate. I like to express my sincere thanks to Jareth the wonderful dentist who treated me. It is the best service I ever had. No offence to the other dentist but Jareth had a calm,caring therapeutic way that gave me confident during my pain. There was no bleeding afterwards it appears that it was healed after the surgery. I took the advise he gave me and after 24 hours I felt so good. I will soon come back to look at the plan we discussed for further treatment. Thank you greatly Jareth and team. The staff member at the desk who look after my appointment was very welcoming and others after my treatment. Thank thank thank you again. See you soon .God Bless.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately I needed dental treatment at my local dentist for serious toothache. $100.00 for my first appointment which included the check up fee and three xrays which I thought was a fair price.
I then had to wait three weeks in terrible pain for my next appointment to have three bottom front teeth removed, which were loose and with an infection underneath.
My treatment was very professional and caring.
My complaint is because of the cost for less than one hour in the dentists chair.... $850.00 for 50 minutes! Most people don't even earn that amount of money for working a 40 hour week!
When I went back a week later to question why it cost so much, I was given a lecture on how much it cost to run a dental surgery and how the Government didn't subsidize dental treatment.
I was also made to feel so ungrateful because I had received such a large discount already! Really!
I am so disgusted with how much it cost for dental treatment in our country. These thieves at Coastlands Dental Health Care are no different to other dentists in New Zealand who are more concerned about making as much money as possible. This is legal theft and it's terrible when people can't afford dental treatment because of pure greed. People have no choice but to suffer toothache while their teeth riot in their head.
I am extremely disgusted with the rip off dentists like this who are so shameless and so greedy.
We desperately need to have dental treatment regulated so all New Zealanders can afford to go to the dentist in NZ.
