★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have always gone here with my friend and always had a great meal at a great price. Not this time. Got the Paleo bowl $21.90 got it with salmon that they charged an extra $8 for that wasn't mentioned on the breakfast menu board. Also got salt and pepper squid that I've had several times before but this was battered. Didn't enjoy it. We will not be going back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overpriced for the quality. I got the lamb Pastie which was nice enough but lacking seasoning, my friend got a panini which had one slice of mushroom and a half slice of bacon in it, certainly not worth the cost. Hard to maintain 1m distance from other customers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had French toast and Belgian waffles, food was good, never saw any tables wiped, slow to clear them, bird droppings onoutside chairs and tables..Disappointed and concerned with hygiene

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This used to be one of my favourite cafes in Whangarei. Ownership has changed and unfortunately so has the food and service.
Prices have increased but quality certainly hasnt. You often find day old scones and muffins and fillings in paninis and sandwiches is now minuscule.
You get loyalty points at Columbus - 1 free coffee for every 450 points but the new owners never tell you when you have reached the points and when I pointed out that I had twice as many points as required I was told that I had to request a free coffee prior to it being rung up on the till.
I know this to not be true and you get the feeling they just dont want to give away a coffee.
I'm afraid I wont be going back and will now have to search a new cafe. Pity!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had chicken panini very little chicken could not taste. Husband had lamb pasty with more potato than lamb. Should be called a potato pasty. This coffee shop has alwas been our preferred coffee shop but the quality really dropped. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ THis cafe is a very nice place for coffee and eats, within the Mitre 10 Mega, sit outside near the nursery plants or inside the cafe, we like it there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tasty, fresh food available from the cabinets and meals can be ordered and cooked/prepared. Lovely coffee and great service. I found meals were quite expensive for a lunch menu but very enjoyable.
