★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a neat place! It is a bit difficult to find. You have to go all the way to the end, and park there under the trees, otherwise it is a bit of a hike from the bottom entrance.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. You can choose a guided tour or self guided. There were so many interesting things to see. It's amazing to think this is how people lived.
The surrounding gardens are pretty, and there are lots of walking trails as well.
For only $5, you can immerse yourself a slice of New Zealand history

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing house to visit from1860 with lots history plaques around to keep ypu informed. Volunteer lady was very knowledgeable about the families who had lived there...worth a visit if your in the area. Once visited the house you can have a walk around the amazing park or take a picnic and spend the day.
