★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shop was closed the previous day due to a Public Holiday.. Opens at 8am and it was quite busy, some shelves were empty but getting filled.. only one checkout open & the express kiosks.. location is next to the Skyline.. it is CLOSED on a Sunday

I’m the mum who’s son was screaming at the top of his lungs. Whoever was working on the 5/2/22 will definitely remember hearing him or definitely staring at us.
Please understand the embarrassment I felt and the shame of people staring, commenting and laughing. That can’t be helped. But to the employee who I thought at the time was coming over to help, I feel ashamed of the lack of empathy you have towards people
I was at the self checkout isle, it was busy so I was waiting while my son was sitting on the floor crying. This employee walked over and stood behind me, almost felt like I was being pushed forward, also not saying anything.
My son would not hand over the chocolate kinder he was holding. At the time maybe the employee thought she was helping. But to be told in such a harsh voice “don’t scan his chocolate” was upsetting.
I said Thankyou and continued putting through my sons cough medicine and toy.
After all this, the employee then picked up the basket and shoved it near me as an indication to get my stuff and leave asap. I felt as if I was being rushed out of the store.
I can understand that I should have left while my son was screaming. As a solo parent I desperately needed to get my son some cough medicine otherwise I would have left. But the service I received was appalling. To feel pushed out of your store while holding back tears. I will not be returning anytime soon.
I did not get the name of the lady who “helped” me at the checkout. But i really do hope you can work on being compassionate towards people. It really does go a long way :(
