Update 3rd March.2022 Why the constant lies and subterfuge? Why do we see low price stickers when infact the prices have been escalated.This is 1 example tetrapaks of 1 litre milk for well over a year have been $1.90 now on special $2.30.Can you please explain the saving here.If this is the saving,what is the regular price now?It has been hiked by 40 cents.Your prices have become unreasonable.It's not just 1 product,it's price hikes across the board on more than 60% of all products. Stop telling your customers lies. I can't leave zero stars because then I can't post. Update on my review from 9 months ago. Great the week before Christmas there were small kumara in net bags $3.99.the week after no price so asked a young man could he check out the price.The same product was up a whopping $2 to $5.99.The next week back to $5.00 a net bag.Make your mind up. I've also noticed expensive items with no prices.Today platters of fresh fruit no price,chiller near the wine section(custard yoghurt and something else) both sides of the price stand no price.Sort it out please.Nobody had bought anything from that chiller it was full(how's that working for you?)Your staff are under enough pressure then they have to run around price checking.This happens a lot in countdown Hawera.Long toilet rolls 8 pack 1 was $8.50 another 8 pack long rolls $16.50.I laughed out loud unbelievable. The commerce commission said they'd be all over price gauging. Well year on year decent hard working kiwis shop at the supermarket,and year on year they are price gouged through the Christmas and New Year period by greedy supermarkets.I would like to think that once in a bluemoon you would honour your customers with a thank you for their loyalty. Let's see how the commerce commision replies to my email. 9 months before.Nice fairly new store.Clean and well laid out.Vegetables and fruit a whole lot fresher than Hawera Pak n Save.I never used to check my dockets now it's a must both countdown and Pak n Save have overcharged on numerous ago I bought fish from CD and wasovercharged by $15.70,theyrefunded me the money but it's a hassle. Always swipe your onecard as often specials are no onto the till properly.Not the checkout operators fault.Pak n Save win they overcharged me $20.They also have problems loading all their specials.Check your dockets we pay enough for food.All in all CD is my preferred store.

I have very high regard for the service I receive from any of the customer service persons at countdown hawera are very friendly and helpful well done in these testing times makes my life so much easier ??

Nice wide isles very clean .. good staff ..Only thing I didnt like is the security guard at the door .Telling us if that is your wife she can not come in ... Only one person per house hold .. So she had to walk in after later ..

The staff at Countdown are perfection.. always smiling, helpful, happy, I've been shopping there for years, before the new store was even thought of. The new store is great, and the service is the same, brilliant place ? ?

At one point it was great to shop but it seems that whomever is looking after the long life products doesn't have the love for FMCG they should. Messy/empty shelves, stock in the wrong place, missing tickets and incorrect pricing frustrate. A little bit of attention goes a long way, time to maybe start or monitor what is actually happening in store.
