★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have visited Cromwell many times over the last 50 years. Historical precinct always interesting. Amazed by the scale of the industrial infrastructure. Can highly recommend Sanga Pies which us located in the industrial area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's quiet compared to Wanaka and Q'town. A lot of people like that. It does make it easier to get around.
The old town is worth a stroll around and the lake is awesome, but that new bike trail around the lake is the icing on the cake. Definitely worth three or four days of your time.

There's a finger bowl, so hook into it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was stunning. Quite a small town in the middle of almost nowhere. I loved how the conservation team planted small plants and they were all enclosed in paper covers. The water here is super blue and I would highly recommend visiting.
