β β β β β Repeat visits about ongoing sore throat and fatigue were not investigated further or referred, but ascribed to common cold. It took a more astute / capable GP in Christchurch to correctly diagnose the symptoms as being caused by glandular fever. We accept that mistakes can be made, but repeat visits over several week about the same complaint SHOULD have triggered some alarm bells.

β β β β β Very rude to me! Especially the reception staff.. literally have no manners or donβt care about you at all. I do not think theyβre helpful at all. I went to the doctors about 5 times having to pay before they realised what was wrong with me and referred me to a specialist! Half the doctors there have no idea what theyβre even doing! Only good thing is the nurses who are very helpful and a few doctors such as Victoria! Mucked up my prescriptions multiple times aswell, said theyβre ready so I went in and was told they werenβt, at that point I Gave up and just got over the counters drugs for this then they have the audacity to say I owe them $35 for not picking up my prescription. Not good at all do not recommend would rather drive to Christchurch for a better doctor. Glad I live in Christchurch now so I can go to another doctor!!!!

β β β β β The nurses here are great and are the main asset. My low rating is due to always being messed around, long waits and a number of times I've been there I'm forgotten about - the Dr hasn't been given my notes or they've been misplaced. They have mucked up our prescriptions several times, in some cases telling us they are ready and when we arrive they are not, still need a Dr to sign for them and then the Dr isn't available. When you do see the Dr. it feels like a production line. No bedside manner, just in and out with random pills. I'm going elsewhere for my medical needs, I've lost trust.

β β β β β Not very impressed with the staff and the clinic. Went to the clinic today as per the txt message received and was pretty much yelled by the nurse that there are no face to face appointments. Got told to go an sit in my car and the doctor will call me instead. Appointment was at 9am and it's 9.10am. Tried to call the clinic but their number kept coming back engaged. Very unprofessional to be honest and tbh they have no clue about their own process.

β β β β β This is an excellent medical center, I have seen a few doctors at both Darfield and West Melton, for multiple health concerns and they have exceeded my expectations everytime. The doctors and nurses are friendly and thorough and always follow up. I could not recommend more, I'm very happy I changed to DMC when I moved to the area.

β β β β β This place is an embarrassment to the health system. Standard practice to be left waiting an hour past your booked time. Absolutely impossible to get someone at reception to pick up the phone. Absolutely not recommended.

β β β β β I Visited Darfield medical on Tuesday the 26th at 3.45pm with my three year old who was having weight bearing issues after 45minutes of waiting to be seen i was taken inside, the doctor suggested the issue could be viral infection she never took the child's temperature or took any of his vitals and told me i would have to go somewhere else because she needed him more settled to check him, i took him to Riccarton after-hours who did a thorough job of checking him over even while he was overwhelmed by the doctor. He's now under review. The doctor at Darfield medical was not confident did not provide her duty of care as a doctor. I spoke to Carol at reception and was informed the practice manager would be in touch. I have not heard from your practice manager. Which really shows poor judgement of the practice. Being the only doctors available in this area i would expect more competence and if suggested he had a virus, i would at least expect his vitals would of been checked.

β β β β β Latest experience: took three visits with a sick two year old before anyone actually looked in his throat, oh look, strep throat ?
Another experience: rang at lunch about a two year old with a fever, told I could not make an appointment and they'd get the nurse to call us... Took four hours to get a call back by then the fever has subsided a bit but we were informed that if the fever comes back as high as it was to go straight to A&E. No effort to make an appointment or check him out, absolutely careless and useless doctors, better off ringing healthline then waiting until you need emergency care, they won't help you.
Experience 2: Left waiting in my car with a 1 year old baby for forty minutes to get a covid test, no matter how early you ring they're booked out for the day and constantly sound massively inconvenienced having to simply answer the phone let alone book you in.
If I had another option for medical care out here I'd have no hesitation in changing.
