Great base to explore all the walking tracks and Waterfalls
there is 24 hour Electricity as they have a small Hydro Plant
but no Cell coverage...

β β β β β It's the most magnificent place everything at your doorstep fishing walks Kiwis (if you are lucky enough to see them) we heard them . Then the glow worms are just up the road . Truly a magical place.

β β β β β If you ever get the chance to visit here, take it! But bring deet bug spray and long pants and sleeves. The sandflies are relentless.
If you get to meet Bob, you are in luck, he is awesome! A real Southland gentleman and scholar.

β β β β β Love the Weka's and the mattresses hurt and if you roll onto it with your bare skin then it feels like its ripping it off so make sure you use a long sleeping bag.

β β β β β the mattresses aren't mattresses and if your bare skin touches the matts which is what they are it fells if tho you are peeling your skin but otherwise really good especially the fishing and the water holes only 2 minutes away

β β β β β The beds aren't really beds there actually mats no cover either one shower in the guys part of the hostel has very bad water pressure. The only shower that really works is the adults shower but there's only one though. Everything else was good.

β β β β β Wow! What an experience. Loves this secluded and isolated place. What a peaceful getaway. Perfect for school groups with the nearby cruise, motorboats for the river, walks nearby, waterfalls, and the notorious hanging valley track. 12/10 would return!
