s	shane steel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for Mother’s Day with high expectations (reviews are great). Ordered the main vegetarian dish and it was totally sub-par. In fact I could have made something more delicious at home which always feels disappointing at an eatery. It was also missing the avocado which would have likely added some vibrancy to the dish. Overall the dish was lacking in any sort of flavour explosion (expected in a Mexican meal), which could have easily been achieved through various salsa combos etc. Unfortunately I think the dish is perhaps just the token vegetarian dish, definitely not a signature dish I would be running back for. Coffee was great.

They are famous for keeping their shape! ☺️ The food is always tastier than you expect. ? Generous portions, perfectly cooked! Always busy but plenty of indoor or outdoor seating. Polished, friendly staff. We didn't have to wait long either. Their blackboard menu is always amazing. Reasonably priced. Hot chocolates - on point! Decore is trendy (arty) in it's sustainability, and comfortable. You are not rushed out. It's just a great place to hang out... It can be full, and buzzing with chatter, but it's such a great atmosphere no-one seems to notice. Great music playing at a reasonable background level finished off the good vibes. A definite fan of this restaurant.

F	Fran McGuigan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I almost don’t want to write a review and keep this place secret. Hidden behind high bushes in central Nelson it’s a sun trap and haven of good tucker. A great place to visit with children a variety of indoor and outdoor seating areas well fenced off from the street. Good selection of cold beers and cafe food. Service has always been good. They host bands in the evenings too.

We walked into DeVille's thinking poached eggs or maybe a luxurious muesli, but ended up somewhere near Texas. Firstly the coffee was top notch, one with oat milk particularly smooth. After dinner discussion at the table all three of us went 'southern' .. BBQ brisket with cornbread, blackened fish tacos and chicken quesadillas, despite it being 10.30am. We left with smiles on our faces. Thanks to the staff for a very pleasing alternative to poached eggs.

R	Rod K on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came here for breakfast and it was a GREAT choice. The place does music stuff in the evenings so when you walk in for breakfast it's like walking onto a movie set. Lots of green plants (the place used to be a garden centre) a stage with red velvet curtains, theatre doors etc. Very nice vibe. We had the scrambled tofu (like smashed avacado but better) and I had toast and jam. While the tofu was delicious and would of made a great lunch or dinner meal, the toast and jam was a winner for me! They lightly fried the bread which made it amazing and it was served with homemade jam, mixed berries. This jam is on par with jam we had in Rotterdam in a very hip trendy cafe. A nice surprise and a good find in Nelson.

My only small issue was it was a wee bit cold for my partner. The service was amazing and the coffee was probably the best I've had in Nelson this year! ☕☕☕ Recommend this place for sure!!
