★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely big freedom camping area(with gisborne permit) Great swimming, beautiful cliffs, short walks, lots of wild goats+ birds. Toilet block+ dump station We spent 2 very peaceful nights here

well maintained toilet rubbish , area & paddocks swimming in the river was so much fun plenty to explore , enjoyed the campfire @ night & wildlife
Kids even got to pet miniature pony & ride horses
Truly memorable holiday
Experience for 5 adults & 9 kids loved it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a guest of a wedding held on Sunday. What a beautiful place to get married. Stunning trees for photos and the decorations around the trees. Only complaint would be the dirty toilets. But I guess being out where they are and campers around you expect that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great 60km drive from Gisborne, a perfect spot for a picnic or even an overnight camp (need council permit). Usually a lot of friendly people there December to February. Looks on to a slow moving Hangaroa River that is always cold. People still brave it and take a swim. Pet friendly on a leash. Check it out.
