Nice surf break too.
As with most spots, it’s actually the locals who bring the anti-social behaviour. Today the seabirds nesting in the dunes were treated to an hour of deliberate harassment by a local guy and his drone. The birds were clearly distressed and he was getting significant pleasure from the situation.
NZ - stop blaming freedom campers for anti-social behaviour issues and look within the community instead!

Also there is quite a well stocked store on the main road to dotter point.
Only room for 4 or 5 motorhomes

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot to spend a freedom camping (self contained only) night. Toilets were clean and working, morning view was beautiful!
We didn't see the text under the "no campers here" part of the fence as we arrived late and the picture seemed like more of an "allowed", so make sure you park on the western side of the lot to avoid breaking the rules :-)
