★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being local, the stroll along the periphery of this park is enthralling. With views of the Pohangina River and both Ruahine and Tararua ranges. Te Apiti wind farm looks majestic from this park as the sun sets. It has designated dog on and off leash areas but lacks disposal points for doggy litter. Combine this park with a walk around the Domain and you have a good 8-10k stroll without having to take in too many Ashhurst streets.
