Due to the handcrafted nature of our soaps, there will be slight variations between each bar and weights may vary slightly.

For a longer lasting bar of soap try to keep dry between uses and always place the soap in a well draining soap dish.

I also package my soaps with re-used paper and cardboard – commonly brown shopping bags.

Environmental Impact.

When it comes to an environmental impact, bar soaps have liquid soaps beat. Most observably, bar soaps require much less packaging. You can go 100% plastic-free with bar soap, something considerably trickier to accomplish when trying to contain a liquid.

​

According to a 2009 study, it takes five times as much energy for the raw material production of liquid soap, and almost 20 times as much energy for the packaging production. Bar soaps require less energy, less water, and will generally last six times longer than the liquid alternative.

Vegan Friendly

Veganism is not simply a diet, it’s a lifestyle. Vegans not only abstain from eating meat and other animal by-products such as eggs and diary, but they also avoid using animal-derived goods such as leather, wool, silk and any cosmetics containing animal product or that have been tested on animals.

In the old days, soap was made with a combination of animal fat and lye. Even today, many traditional soap recipes still use lard or tallow instead of vegetable oils. But it’s perfectly possible to make all-vegetable soaps that are just as good — if not better — than animal-based soaps.

Cold process soap making is a time-tested technique: The art of soap-making can be traced as far back as ancient Babylon when archaeologists, during an excavation, first discovered a soap material inside clay cylinders dating as early as 2800 B.C.  Inscriptions on the cylinders described a process of fats boiled with ashes, the world's first soap-making method.  But the Babylonians weren't the only ones who benefited from this idea. Today, the cold process method of soap-making evolved to rely on a different ingredient called sodium hydroxide or commonly known as lye.
