β β β β β Great dentist!! Had a root canal done when I was in extreme pain caused by a tooth abscess, was quoted almost $1,000 by every other clinic but had it done for $600 by Edward. He did an amazing job too, quick, professional and very friendly.
Only reason I'm giving 4 stars was the lack of "emergency" appointments.
Nevertheless I won't hesitate to come again.

β β β β β I bought a grab one deal for clean,X rays and check up for Edward Leung dental surgery, and was quite disappointed. The whole process took 15 minutes. It was extremely messy I had saliva & water running all down my face round my neck. Then when he used the polish compound on my teeth it flicked up all up my nose and onto my face. When the clean was done I was passed the mirror I pointed out the stains on my teeth were all still there! His response I cant get them ones they will have to stay... Strange that all other Hygienist seem to have no problem removing a small stain but not my friend Edward. I did not expect premium service with a grab one voucher, but I expected them to honor what they sold and not the shambles my self and partner both received. I will not recommend nor will I return. Thanks Edward Leung Dental for taking my money.

β β β β β At first I was thrilled to have my teeth crowned. As I have been a sufferer of chronic migraine for many years and there was a suggestion that mercury in fillings were a serious health issue I was pleased to have Edward give me my crowns. All of my teeth were done by Edward except the front bottom 4 or 5 which did not require any work. From memory the cost was around $26,000 and Edward let me pay this off which I did without undue delay. I knew it was important I look after my crowns or they could deteriorate. It wasn't a case that I had these crowns and didn't need to do anything to look after them. I used Neutraflor toothpaste and flossed and prodded between my teeth with the little brushes designed for this. I couldn't have looked after my teeth any better.
After a couple of years a crown (bridge) fell off. I had it glued back on.
When I was living in the Waikato I attended my local dentist for a check-up. He said my teeth looked "very asian" and I was a bit upset about this. I asked him what he meant and he said it looked like I'd had my work done in Asia. I told him I hadn't, they were done in Wellington by a dentist who was asian.
The point of difference here is the price. "Asian crowns" don't cost as much as Kiwi crowns do so I approached Edward about this. He told me he'd had my crowns made up in Hong Kong. This was a shock to me. He agreed to give me a portional refund and I agreed not to say any more about it.
Until now...
Something is wrong. I can no longer eat anything hard on the left side of my mouth as my teeth are sore. They shouldn't be, but they are.
I am told that ALL of my crowns on that side of my mouth have to be removed, the affected area treated, and then new crowns fitted. The cost is around $5000.
When I had this work done by Edward I had every confidence in him and viewed him as a perfectionist. He taught me how important it was to look after my crowns. I have done what he told me to do.
I am now told my crowns were not fitted correctly - there is a gap between the crowns and what remains of my teeth. Obviously there is decay...
I am devastated. I spent all this money investing in my teeth for the rest of my life. Edward told me they would last my life-time if I looked after them. I have...
When I last spoke with Edward about my situation he told me that he did not tell me my crowns would last my life-time, and he became angry with me (so why did I spend all that money having them fitted?) He also told me that he refunded me for 3 crowns that were not fitted correctly. Really! News to me. He refunded me for the inferior (Asian) crowns that I had paid a premium for. If I had known that I had 3 crowns badly fitted I would have wanted them fixed.
Now I have trouble eating and am depressed because my teeth are sore.
You decide whether you want to go to Edward Leung, but I would not reccomend him. You might also look at the other reviews (the negative ones) and you might decide the risk is greater than the reward.
I feel cheated and ripped off by a dentist who knew what he was doing and fitted me with inferior asian crowns. He never told me where these came from (I assumed they were made here to the highest New Zealand standards) but they were not, they were made in Hong Kong (cheaper)
The work he did has not lasted, my teeth are sore, and I spent a small fortune...
I have gone to my Dr and have got a prescription for Augmentin. I haven't used it yet, but wil when the pain gets unbearable.
I recieved poor service from Edward Leung. He knew what it meant to me to have nice looking teeth instead of amalgum filled stumps. He cut corners, didn't do his work properly, and fitted me with inferior crowns.
Now I am in trouble and I shouldn't be. I did everything I was supposed to to protect and look after my crowns.
How would you feel?
(My response to Edward Leung's response)
He never did sue me.
It was my new dentist who made the comments about my crowns being very asian.
Edward Leung gave me a partial refund for the inferior crowns he fitted.

β β β β β Purchased a grab one voucher for xrays, clean and polish. Although my teeth definitely feel better, I feel the procedure was very rushed and was given very little information about my teeth. My teeth do not align when I bite down and when I asked how I can fix this, he said there isn't anything to do. That I could maybe see an orthodontist and see what they can do without drastic matters. I also asked how I can reduce the plague build up and he said you cant. He said you will have to come back for me to show you because it is too hard to tell someone. Overall experience left me feeling rushed out the door. Wouldn't recommend if you have REAL issue you want advice on.

β β β β β Recommended by my boss. Getting anything done at the dentist terrifies me but Edward made my experiences quick, painless, easy and affordable. Undoubtedly not going anywhere else. He is great with communicating which I loved. I got a tooth extraction and dental crown and I never thought I'd leave feeling happy and relaxed afterwards until I went here, recommending to everyone I see! Happiest I've ever been about a dental experience

β β β β β The main reason I chose to book at Edward Leung was because I was extremely nervous about going to the dentist and saw "You donβt need to feel nervous about visiting the dentist. With Dr. Edward Leungβs professional and experienced approach, you can feel relaxed from the moment you step into our surgery." on the website. After explaining what was wrong and what I would like looked at, I was told I had been booked in for a free consultation two weeks away. When I arrived I was told I should have booked a check-up not a consultation, even though that is what had been booked for me. He said I would need to book a check up for another time to have my issues looked into. I wish I went somewhere else, rather than waiting two weeks with a sore tooth for this appointment.

β β β β β My old dentist said I needed 7 crowns done as a matter of urgency, for $1400 each. This was $10k I didn't have. Edward Leung was recommended to me. Over time I have had 12 crowns done by Edward Leung. He charged about half what other dentists in Wellington would charge. Some of the crowns done by him have been in my mouth for four years now, I have experienced no problems with any of them and have no complaints about the service I have received. He also does a reasonably priced check-up, scale and clean. He is now my regular dentist.

β β β β β On the recommendation of a very good friend, my wife made an appointment to see Dr Leung as she realised that the previous evening she had broken one of her teeth!
Well, her same day appointment was booked over the phone and she came out of his surgery -believe it or not- smiling and very much impressed by his professional approach and gentle treatment, as well as the very reasonable fee for his services!
Thank you Dr Leung and we have recommended you to our two adult children and their respective families.
Now, he is also going to be my Dentist as I have made a booking for a full check-up in early February.
