Had these guys around to my house they got my house up to a rental standard was done really quick in the time frame I had to work with, recently just got heatpump and ventilation system installed, prompt reply and installed quick turn around especially from other companies I have spoken to. Have recommended to others. Keep up the good work team ?

If I could put zero stars I would. I would avoid Tony and his company at all costs. I engaged EKO NRG 2 years ago to insulate my property in Palmerston North. I later had the property assessed and the insulation was found to be poorly installed and therefore non compliant. The ceiling insulation fluff wasn't thick enough as originally expected, and the underfloor insulation had multiple faults including being stapled to the floorboards instead of joists, hanging down in areas (only half attached) and sections missing that could be reached. In addition, it was identified that there was unused insulation materials stuffed under the house (not installed at all, though I suspect I paid for) and wrapped around a broken storm water pipe, which had been damaged (presumably during the install - who else would wrap insulation material around it??). So not only did they not do the job right, its highly likely they broke a pipe and covered it up. They also didn't remove the old foil insulation, which was scrunched up and left under the house (even though I paid for removal). When I approached Tony (owner) regarding these issues he was defensive and annoyed. He eventually ended up coming back to top up the ceiling insulation and fix the faults with the underfloor insulation, but he wasn't happy about it. He also gave me the wrong date for the fix job and I drove from Kapiti Coast to Palmy to be there only to ring him and be told 'I told you in the email it was tomorrow'. I checked my emails and he had told me the wrong day - I hadn't turned up on the wrong day. He kept saying that the repair work was at 'his great expense' like it was my fault or he was losing out somehow, either way he was very annoyed. My perspective is that he was just finishing the job that I had already paid for. He was consistently grumpy to deal with and clearly customer experience is not high on his priority list. One time he told me that while he was talking to me his lunch was going cold and that he'd rather be eating that than talking to me. When I asked him to pay the plumbing bill to fix the broken pipe (which there was no other logical rationale for it being broken other than his instal team breaking it) he refused and said his team was honest and wouldn't lie about breaking it. This is the same team that did a dodgy install and didn't remove waste materials (so I ask you how trustworthy are they?). I just wouldn't bother with EKO NRG. It was a poor experience end to end. Too much hassle and angst. I know that owning your own business is hard work and can be stressful, but thats what you've signed up for and customers deserve better.

We had this company come 18th September. Would i use them again no ! We wish we had spent the bit extra and used Insulmax . There was little or no communication. They would say we would be there at 9.30 and didn't arrive till 10.30. I had to ring to find out what time, what day they would be arriving. The guys who came the first day were great and the job they have done is good. They found half the house had been already insulated so only half the product we were quoted for was used. We asked that the other half be refunded- what a mission! Ringing, texting, my husband emailing - Tony said one thing to me and one thing to my husband. He is dishonest and lacks communication skills. If he wants to survive in business he needs to respect the client, and communicate politely. After numerous attempts to get the refund we finely got it today, but at the end of the day it should have been a friendly outcome not a confrontation. As I said at beginning- will never use thus company again and I would never recommend them. !

Terrible company to deal with, never return your calls/emails, make promises they can't keep, good luck getting anything serviced by them! Avoid them like the plague.

Disappointed with the quality of ceiling insulation. These guys have cut lots of corners and skimped on the amount of product used. Plenty of email replies but unable to provide what I really wanted, which was a 'breakdown of costs' on the invoice. I estimate that I was supplied with $1200 worth of product, which took 2 guys, 3 hours to 'install'. The total bill was $2500. I think I paid far too much. I would have been happy if they had spent the whole day putting it down properly (what I thought I was paying for).

This is a mixed review. I was happy with the price and the men who came around to install the insulation - they were friendly, did a good job and really polite. However, I wouldn't recommend this company mainly due to communication with Tony. Every time I spoke to Tony I found him incredibly rude to me, be it on the phone or via email. On the first day (and yes it will take more than the single day they book you in for - so beware of that) they skipped doing a section of the outside of the house (the laundry which is connected to the rest of the house, but accessible outside), the men said they'd been told to skip that area. I was under the impression I'd been quoted for the entire outside of the house and so asked Tony for a breakdown of the quote and clarity. I asked for this 5 times and Tony never gave that to me, on the day they finished he said I should just pay before I get late fees. Tony also had issues communicating times they were coming - he said they were coming on Monday and then that day changed it to Tuesday and didn't communicate with his staff the times I'd said I was available once he pushed it back, and was once again rude when I asked for clarity telling me I "need to be patient". So I wouldn't recommend this company, unless Tony stops being the spokesperson for it, he completely soured the experience and refused to give further information - which felt shady and left a bad taste in my mouth afterwards. Once again the work was good (there were two spots on my house that didn't look sanded prior to paint - but it's a stucco house so only see if looking for it), it's just communication overall is terrible. Advice if you choose this company - gather all you information before they start work - get that quote broken down, as you're dealing with Ricardo who is much nicer. Read your contract, you have 7 days after work is FINISHED to pay, and finally ensure all communication with Tony is in writing. Or just go with another company.
