About Element Roofing
Meet Mark Hands, a qualified carpenter with a vast amount of experience in the building and roofing industry. Mark has always had a passion for business and wanted to earn his stripes by working hard and learning as much as he could from the building industry. His journey started in Ireland where he worked as an apprentice carpenter framing roofs and then tiling or slating them. Sadly, the recession hit, and after four years of hard work Mark travelled to Australia on his OE where he spent his time building and roofing in Perth.
Now a decade later he is a New Zealand citizen and his passion has evolved into reality. Mark’s desire to provide the very best for all his clients, combined with his vast experience and strong knowledge of construction means that you can be assured that your project is in expert hands. He understands that you have worked hard to reach the stage of owning your own home – more than likely it will be the single biggest investment decision you will ever have made and he prides himself on ensuring that all work is carried out as if it was his own home, keeping the client fully informed throughout the process.
When Mark is not working on Element Roofing he loves to get involved in community work. He also enjoys spending time with his partner, participating in sports together, as well as challenging himself with triathlons and boxing training.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An adjoining neighbor (Housing NZ) used Element Roofing for a roof replacement. First I had heard of this was after Element Roofing had accessed my property to erect scaffolding without my permission. I got a quote for my roof to be done at the same time and it was exorbitant.
A couple weeks later roofers showed up at 8am Sunday morning (against council laws) and started removing concrete tiles by throwing them to the ground causing a huge amount of noise, I got in contact with manager who claimed to not know about laws and “had to get the job done”. Very unprofessional.
A couple of months later and the flashing between the new iron and my concrete tiles has started lifting and is held down by the builders duct tape as Element haven’t come out to repair it.

They were exceedingly well organised, had a clear plan that had the flexibility to adjust if weather required. Their communication with us was excellent and it needed to be as we cohabited the site during the process. Every single person we dealt with was unfailingly helpful, polite and good humoured. They were absolutely brilliant to deal with and gave us incredible confidence that the job would be done safely and well. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Element Roofing was the only company to provide us with a comprehensive quote, including a detailed description of the work to be to be undertaken. The quote was competitive and within our price range. Particularly important was their ability to complete the work in a matter of weeks, rather than months.
The excellent team who installed our new roof were meticulous, completing the work more or less on time, despite a short delay caused by appalling (Wellington) weather conditions. Element's operations team kept us fully informed about this, as well as any other logistical issues that could delay the installation.
We are absolutely delighted with the final result, and can highly recommend Element Roofing as a first port of call.

My house sits directly in front of a very busy main street with no front or back yard which is quite challenging for them due to lack of working/storing area. They managed to have the work done in a well organized, professional manner.
Communication was very good. I knew how and when things going, had peace of mind all the time.
Price was quite reasonable too, compared with the quotes I got from serval other roofers.

I was impressed with the quality of Element Roofing’s expert advice and their attention to detail. All their staff were very knowledgeable and professional. They were competitively priced against our other tenders. The project ran smoothly and the work was completed in good time. They also have good relationships with many other contractors, which made carrying out associated work, such as concurrent spouting replacement easy and at prices far below what we could get elsewhere.
