America's Cup has ALWAYS been sailed in the host country. A very sad day for NZ. I for one will not support any sponsors - as clearly money is the only thing that counts for you

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being amongst the atmosphere of the America World Cup. Visited the #sparkracezone being put on by @Sparknz at the Emirates Team NZ base. Well worth the visit with plenty of things to see. Great for the whole family.

It sounds like the answer to that is the RNZYS ends up giving away the chance to host the next Americas Cup to Spain when the nation needs it like never before in its history.
In recent years won and defended with NZ tax payers money and the adoration of the country. Now thrown away by a traitor on behalf of the RNZYS, the government and council.
The next Team New Zealand defence won’t be in my name if it goes off shore. I would hope they lose it badly and that the New Zealand public turns on Grant Dalton and the RNZYS as the losers who stole our legacy.
